Galerie F will offer a two hour screenprinting course at our new storefront space in Logan Square. The course begins with a short documentary on contemporary screenprinting [filmed at FugScreens Studios] and a brief tutorial video. Then our instructor will introduce the students to the history of screenprinting and street art, the two artistic focuses of Galerie F. From there on, the students will have a hands on experience with a rotary printing press to create their own two color tote bag with plastisol inks. The design will be provided, as will all materials and tote bags. The steps of preparing a design, coating and exposing a screen, and screen deinstallation will be an orated lesson while the printing process is taught by hand. We limit the course attendance to eight students to ensure the most involved learning process possible.
